I think you can only truly appreciate where you live when you have gone travelling and returned. Each time I come back home, I realise a little more, what a beautiful place it is and how much it has to offer. I suppose when I always lived here I just took it for granted.
Just a few hundred metres from the house I can leave the country lane and set off on a footpath that follows the Little Ouse river through the fen. Sometimes I walk there, sometimes I run. Either way, it’s an escape. A chance to enjoy the nature and fresh air, and let your thoughts flow with the breeze.
Today I took my camera. It’s a long time since I went out specifically to take photographs. The reason – it makes me stop and look. The summer is nearly over and autumn is swiftly approaching. I want see the change.
So here are the photos I took. I hope you enjoy them. All within a mile from home. What’s near you?
Beautiful pictures, but I’m repeating myself.
Speaking of pictures, I found this guy “zahariz.wordpress.com’,, ”
MkII brick, but it looks like it’s worth every ounce (or gram) of it.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for those links – really beautiful stuff. I’m in awe. Not sure I have the willpower (or finances) for carrying around a 5DMkII although I think the great shots are due to the photographer rather than the camera!
100% agree,
my comment was influenced mainly by my obsession with saving weight. Old legs, steep hills in Colorado.
